What are the advantages of Somnodent over CPAP?

How does the oral appliance work? How does it prevent obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and snoring?
An oral appliance works in several ways:
- It repositions and stabilizes the lower jaw and tongue while also repositioning the soft palate and uvula.
- It also increases the muscle tone of the tongue.
- In this way, the soft tissues and tongue are prevented from collapsing, which keeps the airway open and unobstructed and also halts snoring.
Through the above actions, the tissues and tongue are prevented from collapsing in keeping the airway open and unobstructed. Since air flows freely into the lungs, the forced flow of air and vibrations of the tissue (known as snoring) do not occur.
Can I expect success with OAT (Oral Appliance Therapy)?
While each individual is different, OAT has been proven to be extremely effective at solving obstructive sleep apnea and snoring.
